Bookings may be made by e-mail, letter or telephone. Telephone bookings must be confirmed in writing on request. Please quote purchase order numbers where applicable.
a. Non-credit account customers
If you place a booking within 31 days of the start date of the course you will be required to pay at the time of booking.
If your booking is made more than 31 days before the course starts, you should pay in full within 14 days of booking, or no later than 31 days prior to the course start date, whichever is the sooner. If payment is not received by the due date the booking will be cancelled automatically and the course place will be made available to other students.
Should circumstances mean that you need to transfer to another course then the following charges will apply dependent on notice given:
NB. Free transfer applies to the first transfer only. Subsequent transfers incur a minimum charge 25% of the course fee, rising to 50%, dependent on notice as shown above. All transfers must be taken within a period of 6 months from the original course date.
Should circumstances mean that you have to cancel your course and are unable to transfer your booking to another date at the time of cancellation then the following charges will apply:
Cancellation or transfer must be made in writing and received by GJC Risk Management LTD by the due date.
If you do not attend a course, and have not previously informed us, the full course fee remains payable.
If you arrive late for a course or are absent from any session, we reserve the right to refuse to accept you for training if we feel you will gain insufficient knowledge or skill in the time remaining. In all such cases, the full course fee remains payable. To conform with Health and Safety Executive or Accredited Training body requirements for statutory certificates, attendance at all sessions is mandatory.
On occasion, unforeseen circumstances may require us to cancel a course. In such circumstances you will be given as much notice as possible and either a free transfer to another course date or a full refund of fees paid.
To be eligible to attend an HSE First Aid two-day re-qualification course, students must present a valid First aid at work certificate issued by an HSE-approved provider which is `in date’ on the last day of the re-qualification course. (In date means the period within three months prior to the original certificate expiry date.
It is the employer’s responsibility to ensure that students are free from any condition which would affect their capability to undertake their chosen course, and that they have the aptitude to cope with an intensive course of study. We welcome students with disabilities but it remains their employer’s responsibility to ensure that they are appropriately supported in their workplace.
If you have a learning difficulty, or other disability that makes it difficult for you to be assessed please notify the tutor so another form of assessment may be used and early assistance may be given.
GJC has a smoke-free work environment and students are requested to refrain from smoking whilst on GJC premises, there is allocated smoking area outside the building at the front. We kindly ask you to use smoke bins to dispose of your cigarettes.
Tea and coffee facilities are available; buffet style lunch is provided on the premises.
It is important that the full course is attended to meet requirements for certification. Please do not schedule appointments during the class hours or you may not be able to obtain a certificate. Please make sure you are on time for the course or you may be refused entry. There is a lot to cover and the tutor will not be able to assess you as competent if you miss any of the course.
Assessment will take many forms throughout your course. These may include: written assessments, questions from your tutor, practical work and formal scenario assessments.
For courses with formal assessment you are required to demonstrate competency in simulated emergency situations in order to achieve the GJC Certificate
You will be supplied with all the material you need for your course and assessments.

A46 to Louth: continue to Louth for approx. 14 miles, at the roundabout take the 1st exit Grimsby Road continue forward for approx. ¾ mile, there will be a set of traffic lights and a church to your right, take the 2nd immediate road on the left known as Eastgate, continue forward, approx. 400yds on your left will be Meridian House.
On arrival please press buzzer for Unit 9 and we can allow you to access the building, we are on the second floor stairs are to your right, turn right at the top of the stairs straight in front are the GJC Offices, please walk in, you will then be guided to the training room.
Car parking facilities are based on Kiln Lane LN11 0LU, daily car parking is approx. £ 3 per day
